Before graduating in 2014, Becky had clocked up eight successful years as a proofreader for publishers and masters students, and in 2014/15 she joined five top copywriting agencies as a copywriter, proofreader and editor, and a top global CV-writing firm.

Born and raised in the south and east of England (Devon, Lincolnshire and Cambridge). Having always had a feel for English (spellings, punctuation, and generally being able to string sentences together), she began to offer proofreading services to a number of publishers. This went well, so to clarify matters, she took an English and Teaching English as a Foreign Language degree and never looked back. She aimed to hone each and every aspect of ‘correct’ English, so as to become somewhat of an authority on the subject. The course was an eye-opener in many ways, particularly about our tense system, of which we are taught only a small percentage in most British, American and Australian schools and sixth forms.

She has written and edited a massive amount of texts, such as over 200 travel guides for a well-known travel company; around 150 car specs for car dealerships; 20 premier care-homes’ webpages; 200 CVs; numerous LinkedIn profiles; around 100 cover letters; 500 shoe descriptions for Britain’s most well-known shoe company and a website for an elite, high-end catering company, which has catered for the Queen, no less. For a year she also proofread on a daily basis for one of the biggest law firms in the world today.

Becky always receives great feedback for her writing and proofreading, and has helped countless people get the interviews they want.

Becky’s hobbies are minimal, due to being a proud working mum, but she loves travelling to sun-drenched shores, completing her bucket list, reading books on the after-life, and dying her hair silly colours. When she used to have spare time, she loved doing crafts such as jewellery-making, and selling the end products.
